Tooth Implants

Dental implants are a long-lasting, natural-looking solution for replacing missing teeth. They are small titanium posts that are surgically placed into the jawbone to serve as artificial tooth roots. Once healed, a custom crown, bridge, or denture is attached-- restoring your smile’s appearance, strength, and function.

We Specialize in Dental Implants

At Mattydale Oral and Facial Surgery, we specialize in placing dental implants with precision and care. Whether you're missing one tooth or several, implants can help you speak, chew, and smile with confidence again.

Learn More About Dental Implants

Are You a Candidate for Implants?

You may be a good candidate if you:

  • Are missing one or more teeth

  • Have healthy gums and adequate jawbone

  • Are in good general health

  • Want a long-term tooth replacement option

If you’ve experienced bone loss, a bone graft may be recommended before implant placement to build up the jaw for long-term stability.

How are Dental Implants Placed?

Mattydale Oral & Facial Surgery uses advanced technology, such as Cone Beam imaging, to capture detailed scans of your jaw. Cone Beam images, or Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT), provide our surgeons with a comprehensive view of your oral health, including bone structure, nerves, and teeth. This diagnostic tool helps us determine the best treatment plan and identify the precise placement for dental implants. In some cases, a tooth extraction may be needed before implant placement. Depending on bone density and other factors, our surgeons may be able to place the implant immediately after extraction. Alternatively, a bone graft may be performed to prepare for future implant placement.

Learn About Wisdom Teeth Extractions

Wisdom tooth removal is often necessary for patients in their late teens or early twenties. These “third molars” usually begin to emerge between ages 17 and 25, but when there isn’t enough room, they can become impacted, leading to discomfort in the mouth and jaw. Extraction is commonly the best option for relief. At Mattydale Oral & Facial Surgery, Dr. Matthews specializes in wisdom tooth extractions, providing expert care and compassionate attention. Our team uses gentle, minimally invasive techniques to ensure a comfortable procedure and a smooth recovery.

Impacted Wisdom Teeth

If left untreated, impacted wisdom teeth can pose significant risks to your oral health. Beyond crowding and damaging nearby teeth, impacted wisdom teeth can lead to gum inflammation, jaw pain and stiffness, and even the formation of cysts or tumors around the tooth. We recommend early removal to prevent these complications and help maintain optimal oral health. With our advanced Cone Beam CT scanner, we capture precise images of your teeth and jaw, allowing us to remove even high-risk or complex wisdom teeth with minimal discomfort and maximum care.

Once your procedure is complete, you’ll head home for recovery, with a follow-up visit tailored to your progress. Although wisdom tooth removal can feel overwhelming, it’s a common procedure that Dr. Matthews performs with expertise and care.
