Meet Dr. Matthews
Dr. Stanley Matthews, originally from Baltimore, Maryland, earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Howard University College of Dentistry in 2007. He also holds a Master’s degree in Medical Science from Hampton University, along with dual Bachelor’s degrees in Biology from Coppin State University and Rehabilitation from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
Following dental school, Dr. Matthews completed an intensive oral and maxillofacial surgery internship to expand his skills and prepare for a rigorous residency at Woodhull Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He served as chief resident during his final year, earning numerous accolades for his achievements and dedication.
Dr. Matthews remains devoted to his field, serving as a volunteer attending surgeon at Woodhull Medical Center, where he mentors residents through hands-on surgical training and lectures. His commitment to service extends beyond local communities, as he travels annually with the Caribbean American Association Medical Missions team to Jamaica, providing oral surgery and complex medical care to underserved areas.
In addition to his professional work, Dr. Matthews actively encourages youth, speaking to middle and high school students about pursuing their dreams. He has built a career grounded in exceptional patient care, treating each patient with the same care and compassion as he would his own family.
